Our client, own, operate, and develop world-class properties, specialising in shopping centres (retail property) delivering the best outcomes for their tenants, investors, and the communities in which they operate. They are currently searching for a Finance Officer for a 6-month contract starting ASAP.

Overall, the Finance Officer will support and assist the Finance Team in undertaking the day-to-day accounts payable, bank and payroll functions. The Finance Officer’s primary purpose is to ensure the corporate accounts payable; bank and payroll processes are operated effectively. Specifically, the Finance Officer is responsible for the following core functions:

Accounts Payable: Complete payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.

Payroll:  Processing payroll, remitting payroll taxes and government reporting as well as preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements.

Bank: Ensuring all bank statement entries are appropriately recorded and all balances reconciled in the accounting system

The Finance Officer reports to the Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the Group Finance Manager as it relates to the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable, bank and payroll functions.

The Finance Officer will develop a deep understanding of the finance systems and processes and continually drive improvements and efficiencies and educate colleagues in these areas.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Minimum of three (3) years accounting related and/or finance officer/accounts payable officer experience within a corporate organisation.
  • ELMO, MRI, MYOB experience are preferred
  • Prior experience with payroll
  • Property/Real Estate industry experience is preferred
  • Experience in a shared services business unit is preferred
  • Strong communication both written and verbal
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and will show initiative and drive when working alone.

This position is starting as a contract with the possible extension or permanent position available.
