About the Role:
 
Join a leading shopping centre owner as their next Retail Maintenance Manager, based in South East Queensland.
  
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in facilities management, construction, or property who is ready to take on their next challenge in the retail property sector.
  
In this role, you’ll be hands-on in ensuring the centre is well maintained, safe, and welcoming for the local community playing a key part in its day to day operations and presentation.
  
Key Duties:

  • Manage daily maintenance tasks and repairs to optimise the centre’s presentation and function
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining a 12-month maintenance schedule
  • Coordinate timely responses to retailer complaints and ensure daily centre maintenance
  • Follow procedures for insurance claims and manage WHS compliance
  • Conduct regular WHS audits, equipment testing, and annual fire drills
  • Complete contractor inductions and regular maintenance inspections
  • Understand and manage contracts, monitor performance, and ensure safe work practices
  • Play an active role in disaster management and maintain relationships with emergency services
  • Assist in the management of incoming calls, direct as needed, and handle messages or enquiries appropriately.

Skills & experience:

  • Trade background is advantageous, but not essential
  • A track record of operational administration within a corporate organisation
  • Sound technical understanding of base building plant and equipment
  • Strong computer skills as well as a good level of numeracy and analytical skills
  • Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capacity to work flexible hours, including weekend work when required
