About the Role:
  
Working directly for McConaghy Properties, this role offers the opportunity to oversee Castletown Shopping Centre, a landmark retail asset featuring 37,544m² of GLA and proudly serving as a cornerstone of the Townsville community since 1988.
  
Lead the day-to-day facilities oversite of the centre’s built environment, preserving and boosting the value of the shopping centre through effective management of various aspects including building services, infrastructure, ESG initiatives, compliance, and more.
  
This role is ideal for someone from a facilities, construction, or property background who is really for their next challenge in the property sector.
  
The successful candidate will lead the facilities team while working closely with contractors, consultants and the broader centre management team, bringing a keen eye for operational efficiency and proactive technical maintenance that enhances the shopping centre experience making sure the built environment is compliant and well-maintained.
  
Key Duties:

• Managing day-to-day facilities management of the shopping centres
• Understand, plan, deliver and document all elements of the built environment
• Proactive & reactive maintenance planning
• CAPEX & OPEX budget management and planning
• Disaster recovery planning, OH&S and risk management
• Contractor management
• Providing leadership to support staff
• Liaising with stakeholders

Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in managing risks in the building sector
• Previous experience in building management, project management, facilities management or a related field
• Strong technical experience and knowledge across all building services e.g. HVAC, mechanical, electrical, cleaning and security services
• Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical capabilities
• Knowledge of building infrastructure and systems
• Proven leadership ability managing and mentoring a small team
• The know how to build strong relationships with all stake holders
