About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has become available for Senior Property Accountant to join a leading property company who own, operate and develop world-class assets that deliver the best outcomes for their tenants, investors, and the communities in which they work.

Reporting to the Property Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality financial reporting to enable accurate and informed decision-making for the successful performance of a portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail properties.

The responsibilities for this position include:

• Produce monthly financial information in an accurate and timely manner within group reporting timelines, including monthly profit & loss reporting, verification of monthly revenue, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
• Assist the on-site managers to complete their finance related tasks to meet required deadlines for internally managed properties
• Liaise with external property management companies for appropriate assets
• Prepare analytical data for the benefit the management team;
• Quarterly reforecasting;
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets for the allocated portfolio of properties;
• If applicable mentor, supervise and provide direction to Property Accountants and Accounts Administrators (Payables and Receivables);
• Driving and monitoring the process that ensures purchase orders are processed and enables suppliers and contractors to be paid in a timely manner;
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of financial information to confirm integrity; and
• Provide commentary and reviewing the financial performance of properties with the Finance Manager and Asset Managers on a monthly basis.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally:

• Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience
• Have excellent knowledge of accounting standards with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Work well as part of a team and show initiative and drive when working alone
• Have retail, commercial, or industrial property experience
